Spooky season is upon us— a personal favorite of Abode staff!
Let’s dive right into what our editors, readers, and staff were up to in the month of September:
Prose Editor Addie Tsai’s poem “Alarmist Confession for the Asian Child” won third place in Black Fox Literary Magazine’s Secrets Unraveled contest!
Poetry Editor SG Huerta has a flash essay in Bodega Magazine, “Candy People Explode When They Get Scared.” SG also recently joined just femme & dandy’s masthead as the fat + furious editor. (PS: jf&d’s co-EIC is our very own Addie Tsai, and submissions are now open!)
Poetry & Hybrid Reader Sara Bawany’s poetry collection Quarter Life Crisis is available to preorder from Flowersong Press.
Graphic Designer nat raum’s poem “THIS IS NOT WHAT THEY MEAN BY ‘COPYWRITING WITH EMOTION’” was published in Overheard.
Copy Editor Tanya Thamkruphat’s visual poem “Scavenger Hunt at the Library” was published in Inlandia
And a final reminder, if you’re headed to AWP next February, plenty of Abode staff, fam, and friends have panels and readings scheduled for the conference!
Thank you for reading September’s literary offering! ICYMI, check out our October Feature below, and stay tuned for EXCITING press updates later this month!
