Author of TOY SOLDIERS MICHAEL CHANG's next full-length poetry collection THINGS A BRIGHT BOY CAN DO, is out in Spring 2025 with Coach House Books. Blurbed by Victoria Chang, Denise Duhamel, Evie Shockley, and others, it will be available in time for AWP LA.

Author of My Sisters Look Like God Desiree McCray will be publishing Black Girl, Brown Soul with Jamii Publishing, a choreopoem that explores identity, resilience, and the nuanced experiences of Black women. Desiree’s poem “They Never Said It’d Be Easy,” a tribute to Nikki Giovanni, is forthcoming in Foglifter. Desiree was also selected as a Roots. Wounds. Words. (RWW) Fellow for the upcoming retreat for storytellers of color.

Administrative Assistant Yasmine Essence Soria launched a new Latine literary magazine, Cuéntame Literary Magazine. In Issue 1, you can find Yasmine’s interview with Marisa Tirado, Abode Virtual Retreat alum Bri Gonzalez’s poems, féi hernandez’s poems, and SG Huerta’s poem.
Fiction editor Addie Tsai’s poem “In the parking lot of a Chinese restaurant” was published in Harbor Review. Their essay “On The Failure Of The Frankenstein Adaptation” was published in Electric Lit.
